System and method for two-dimensional digital signing of an electronic student book

The invention relates to a system of an electronic student book and a method for securely managing student data and grades through digital signatures.

Description

The system includes a processor in which the electronic student book is stored. This processor is connected via an interface to another processor, which is connected to a processor in the computer system of the educational institution via a network. This allows data exchange between the student book and the educational institution.

The method begins with a connection between the processors via an interface, which allows for identification and authentication of the student based on the data from the electronic book. For security, a session key is used, which ensures that the connection is secure.

A horizontal digital signature is created in the processor with the private key of the lecturer. This signature includes information about the student's data and his/her grade and is recorded in the electronic examination protocol.

The electronic exam protocol is digitally signed once again with the lecturer's private key, and this second signature is called a vertical digital signature. It unites the entire document into one whole and guarantees its integrity and authenticity.

Finally, the signed electronic exam protocol with a vertical digital signature is sent over the network from the processor to the verification processor, which ensures the security and verifiability of the grades.

Opportunities

This system enables reliable and secure management of student data and grades by using modern cryptographic methods for digital signature and protection of the information.
