System for extending the security of information systems through Blockchain technology

The invention relates to a system and method for extending the security of information systems through Blockchain technology.

Over an existing information system a distributed ledger is built, in which the essential events are recorded — who changed what and when. The records are cryptographically chained, so that a subsequent change of a past record is detected immediately.

The method does not require replacement of the main system: it works as before, while the blockchain layer adds traceability and protection against tampering with the history. It is applicable where data has legal significance — educational, financial and administrative registers.
